Middle Caicos Island is the premier ecotourism destination in the Turks
& Caicos Islands. As the largest but least developed island in the
country, it is a unique opportunity to experience a disappearing way of life.
Fewer than 300 people live here and much of the island is designated as
protected parks and reserves. The largest above-water cave system in the
region can be found here.
Blue Horizon Resort preserves the natural setting of Middle Caicos and was designed and built to blend with it's spectacular location. It's located on the Crossing Place Trail that takes you to flocks of Flamingos wading on secluded beaches, hidden beaches below the cliffs or the quaint beach road among the Casuarinas and Sea Grapes. Birds are a special attraction on Middle Caicos. Several Osprey pairs nest along its shores. Flocks of Egrets fly by at sunrise to feed. Even the rare West Indian Whistling Duck may be seen raising its young here. Middle Caicos has been called "the Caribbean as it used to be."
